The Rings Security Shutters & Gates Ltd range of smoke and fire life protection products has been developed to provide solutions all types of applications where fire separation and/or smoke compartmentation is required.

All fire shutters are manufactured to ensure full compliance with current British and European regulations.

Solid Steel Fire Resisting Roller Shutter – Electrically Operated Specification are a more robust method of securing an opening, whilst giving a barrier to fire for up to 4 hours.

The steel fire shutters are tested by the BRE Fire Research Centre to BS 476 Part 22.

The shutters are designed for normal daily usage as a security shutter via key switch or push button and to activate in a fire alarm situation via the client’s fire alarm signal with failsafe fusible link for local heat activation if necessary.

The fire shutter is activated via an audio-visual control panel, linked to the client’s fire alarm signal allowing the shutter to close in a powered controlled manner.

Failsafe fusible link is provided, to activate the shutter via controlled geared descent, in the event of power failure. Testing of the door is done manually as is opening and closing the door, using a 415-volt 3 phase 50Hz motor drive. Emergency operation is via a manual hand chain.

CURTAIN
75mm curved galvanized 20 gauge steel interlocking laths with steel end locks, finished with an inverted ‘T’ section galvanized bottom rail.

SIDE GUIDES
65mm x 32mm x 2.5mm or 102mm x 32mm x 3mm straight galvanized channel sections with splayed tops bolted to 75mm x 50mm angles.

BARREL
Constructed from high quality mild steel tube with internal helical torsion springs, mounted on a steel shaft bearing blocks, incorporating high-speed bearings at each end (Primer finish).

The complete assembly encased by a galvanized hood.
